You're Less Safe And Democrats Don’t Care

Do easy borders rise to the level of a national security issue?
A cop in California was killed recently by a violent immigrant who had crossed our border illegally. Does that make illegal immigration a national security issue?
Illegals cost the American tax payers a net amount well over $100 billion a year. Is that a national security issue?
No one really knows for sure how many illegal immigrants live in our country. No one knows where they live. Or who they are. What we do know is that there are somewhere between 13 million and 17 million illegal immigrants here.
Too many of those illegal immigrants are also violent criminals protected from federal law enforcement by states and cities that claim sanctuary status. They endanger the safety of every American. A national security issue?
Many of those 13 to 17 million illegal immigrants have children in public schools. Educating them costs billions. In many states illegal kids get preferences for admittance to state colleges — whether they’re qualified or not. They take places that otherwise would go to American kids. Is the huge cost of K-12 education, or the increased cost of college due to competition from illegals, cause for national security concerns?
What about the fact that illegals use billions of gallons of precious water, contribute to the wear and tear on our infrastructure, and drive at least 6 million cars that run on fossil fuel. Oh, and most of those drivers don’t abide by EPA standards or even carry auto insurance. Does any of this approach the level of a national security issue?
Add to all this the simple fact that our highly porous southern border allows spies, islamic terrorists, drug dealers, and all sorts of other bad actors to slip easily into America and cause serious harm to our people. Clearly a national security problem.
I’m no doubt just scratching the surface here. There are plenty of problems associated with illegal immigration that rise to the level of national security issues. But isn’t the real question here whether or not a wall on our southern border would help make our people safer and our country more secure?
Democrats would have you believe walls don’t work. Why then does every prison surround itself with high walls? Why do so many politicians and celebrities build walls around their homes? Why did the Democrat National Committee surround their convention hall with walls? And why did Democrats from Pelosi to Schumer all support building a border wall in the past decade?
Democrats now claim drones and technology will do the job. If that’s the case why didn’t they put the technology in place when they controlled the White House and Congress? The fact is, they know technology isn’t enough. The fact is, most Democrats in Congress don’t really want to strengthen border security. And many would love to see the borders thrown open to whoever wants to come in - even though anyone with half a brain will tell you such policies will bankrupt our country and not just financially.
We also face a deepening deficit of moral decency. A newly elected Muslim in Congress called President Trump a “motherf_cker” within hours of being sworn. She did this at least partly because of President Trump’s commitment to border security.
National security? Yeah, immigration is indeed a national security problem. As big and as dangerous a problem as that is though, the bigger — and more dangerous — problem is that Democrats don’t care.
